Manifesto & Priorities

Hello! My name is Kayenaat, my pronouns are they/them, and I am in my second year studying BA World Philosophies. For the last few months I have been the treasurer for SOAS Womxn's Rugby.

• Better First Aid within sports. Having suffered a sports injury myself this year, I have seen that the importance of having students who are First Aid trained on the field cannot be overstated. Sports injuries can be a real detriment to students' mental health as well as physical health. I will work to improve First Aid provision across all sports societies and ensure at least two members of every sports society are First Aid trained by the end of the year.
• Stronger community around matches. I want SOAS as a whole to have a much tighter community that can come together for matches, in the same way SOAS Rugby does. I will work to ensure that matches are better promoted throughout SOAS and the SU so we can bring attendance up.
• Clearer communication between the SU and sports societies. Having experienced my fair share of communication difficulties with the SU, I want to ensure there is much more clear and direct communication between the SU and sports societies.
