Hi, This is Neelam Aslam and I carry inside me a passion to be a carrier of change. I have a Journalistic background and I have covered all the issues of the world, social injustices, Women empowerment, Human Rights and Political Dynamics of the World. I aim to continue and expand my work in a more effective manner for the society I am a part of so I got admission in Development Studies with an aim to know about the tools and procedures required to serve people around the world with passion and compassion .

Sharing the same biosphere , breathing the same air , living on the same planet ,and influenced by globalization we all connect in our places to make a global society. We all share the responsibility of community wellbeing .

As an Anti-Racism Officer I make a commitment with all of you I would do everything that you'd never feel any lesser because of the colour of your skin and race .

We would work together and try to make SOAS an ideal place on Earth where we would sing songs of peace and harmony and celebrate our existence as human beings and we would love each other unconditionally .

Do not hesitate to drop me a message or any suggestions: 694870@soas.ac.uk.

I’ll be happy to chat about all and nothing and maybe we can even share a coffee / Chae/ Qahwa / anything at the SU shop!

My Manifesto

Hi ,

This is Neelam Aslam. I have a Journalistic background worked in the toughest and challenging times. I reported news of terrorism, bomb blasts, social Injustices, Child abuse, Rape, Racial Attacks, Political Happenings around the World . Honestly speaking it affected my personal life because Now I have in depth knowledge of all the events happening around us ,social injustices which needs to be spoken about loudly and should be addressed. I have developed a better understanding of issues and rights of Women, Children, and all the oppressed segments of the society. I really want to contribute in this cause I am already appointed as the Anti-Racism Officer of British Red Cross Society and would love to play a positive role representing SU too. I think with similar role at two places would allow me to work more efficiently and religiously for this mission. We are in 21st Century and still we are judged by the color of our skin, the color of our passport, and by color of our hair. We are critized for our accents, we are facing harassment while in a tube or a bus because of Racist attitude. This needs to be stoped and together we can make a difference .
