NSS Referendum

Referendum question:

Should SOAS Students' Union boycott the National Student Survey 2019?

The National Student Survey (NSS) is an annual survey conducted on behalf of the UK government Office For Students, run at Universities across the country.

In 2016/17 SOAS S.U. successfully boycotted the NSS as part of the larger boycott national camapign, meaning that not enough students completed it for the results to count.

In 2017/18, the decision to boycott the NSS was taken at a UGM. Despite this, 52% of students still chose to fill in the survey, and as such, the boycott was unsuccesful.

This outcome has lead us to take the decision to take the vote to an all student referendum to ensure that the SU is representing the majority of its members

It's up to you to decide if we should boycott the NSS or not!
