Preferenda Portfolio Part-Time Officer Roles 2022/23
Which eight proposals should be adopted as the Preferenda Portfolio Part-Time Officer Roles for the 2022/23 Academic Year?
Each year student members of SOAS SU have an opportunity to decide the remit of eight Preferenda Portfolio Part-Time Officer roles. These roles become part of the Executive and will work to represent students and campaign on their behalf.
Students are able to vote in order of preference. As there are eight roles available, we recommend that students vote for at least eight roles to ensure that they are making the most of their vote. The count for this Preferenda will be conducted using STV and there shall be eight ‘seats’ available.

Research Students' Association Elections
The following Research Student's Association roles need to be filled for this academic year. Please do considering nominating yourself for a role and joining the team. Please note that the RSA has monthly board meetings that you would be expected to attend. The first board meeting will take place following elections and is tentatively scheduled for Thursday Oct 19th, from 5 - 6:30 pm. Note that if a candidate is likely to be unavailable sporadically throughout the year (say for field work), sharing the role with another person so that someone is always available in the post is advisable. BDS Referendum at SOAS
For 10 years the SOAS Students’ Union has supported the Palestinian call for Boycott Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) on Israel, and it was one of the first Students’ Unions to vote to do so. This referendum aims to assess whether there is widespread support
amongst the SOAS community for the university, as an institution, to endorse BDS too.
Voting is completely anonymous. The reason you need to enter your details is to prove you're a SOAS students.
