SOAS Students Union are welcoming applications to be part of the first SOAS Undergraduate Research Journal. The journal is a joint Student’s Union / Academic project which is part of the school’s aim to celebrate more widely some of the excellent research work that happens at undergraduate level.
Participation in the journal would be beneficial from both an employability point of view, and any planned future academic career. At the same time it is an opportunity to shape from the beginning a vehicle for future SOAS students to display their work for years to come.
The two positions that we are advertising for are to be Editor or a Member of the Editorial Board. You can apply for one or both of the positions (please indicate in your application if you are applying for Editor or the board - though unsuccessful applicants for Editor will automatically be considered for the board).
To apply please submit the following to by noon on Monday 28th January:
- A brief CV to outline your experience
- A 500 word piece of writing outlining your vision for the journal - This might include what themes it might cover, how you would see the journal developing, how you would communicate to students, examples of best practice from the sector.
Relevant training will be provided, with ongoing support from an advisory panel.
The journal is intended to be interdisciplinary, and the journal can publish anything that meets the criteria agreed by the editorial board. Students will be able to submit work after they graduate. The first publication of the journal is intended to be June.
All applications and any questions should be sent to soasugrj@soas.ac.uk
Many Thanks,
The Advisory Board
