NUS welcomes you to Glasgow for National Conference 2019, which will be held from Tuesday 9 - Thursday 11 April
All of our members are invited to take part in National Conference, which is free to attend for registered delegates. This website contains instructions on how to take part in National Conference and informs you about what you need to do in the run-up to the event.
National Conference is the sovereign policy-making body of NUS and brings together nearly a thousand delegates from students' unions across the country to discuss, debate and vote on motions and elect the political leadership of the organisation for the year ahead.
See here for the booklet of motions and amendments, which will be debated at the Conference.
This year, SOAS SU are sending Nicolas and Syraat as our delegates. Please see motion 12 of the 20th Nov UGM, for part of their contribution to this year's conference.
Syraat (648141) says: "I'm very excited to be a part of this year's conference with the number of motions affecting our student community and the minorities existing within. With my focus on representing self-identifying females, advocating mental health awareness and the overall treatment of Muslim students, I hope to use my position to make some decisions for the betterment of students everyday lives in university. With some great candidates for president and other roles present at the conference I look forward to seeing some good changes implemented!"
