There is currently no industrial action being undertaken at SOAS.

SOAS SU stands in solidarity with those undertaking strike action. On this page, you can find more information about the strikes, how you can support those undertaking strike action, and how you might be affected. 

What are the UCU?

UCU is the University and College Union. It is a national union representing over 120,000 academics, lecturers, trainers, instructors, researchers, managers, administrators, computer staff, librarians, technicians, professional staff and postgraduates in universities, colleges, prisons, adult education and training organisations across the UK. Most universities will have their branch that represents the members at that university. When UCU undertook a national ballot on whether to undertake industrial action, UCU members at SOAS voted to undertake this action. They again voted to undertake industrial action during the re-ballot in 2023.
