Work for SOAS Students' Union

Project Co-ordinator: Enough Is Enough Consent Training

In 2016 SOAS SU ran its first ever set of comprehensive consent trainings for new students as part of its commitment to reducing sexual violence on campus. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive and the programme has been funded by SOAS for an extra five years. We are now in our fourth year of training.

SOAS SU is looking for a student Project Co-Ordinator to manage consent trainings for the next academic year. The role will work with the current and incoming Co-President Welfare & Campaigns and the SU General Manager to re-run and improve the successful programme we put on last year. The role will involve helping recruit next years trainers, working with the School to get the rooms booked and new students allocated, and to help run the week. The role is part-time, and approximately 180 hours in total between May and October, you will definitely need to be available full time for the first week of June, and the last two weeks of September. It is a great opportunity to run an important project, developing key skills and working in a supportive but challenging team.

Knowledge of, and involvement in the previous round of consent training would be useful but is not compulsory, however all applications should show a deep understand of the issues around sexual violence, consent and the sensitivities of this kind of training. The applicant needs to be a member of SOAS Students' Union. We will also welcome joint applications as we may end up appointing more than one co-ordinator as a job share.

To apply please send your CV and One Page Cover Letter to by 1pm on the 23rd April.
