SOAS Kashmir Solidarity Movement invites you to the screening of Amnesty Media Award winning documentary: Kashmir's Torture Trail.
In the most militarised place on earth, one man is standing up to the armed might of the world's largest democracy. The documentary follows a Kashmiri Lawyer, as he exposes gross human rights violations in Indian occupied Kashmir.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion and a Q & A session.
The panel speakers shall be Nitasha Kaul, autho of Residue and Safoora Teli, co-founder of The K Word.
Dr Nitasha Kaul is a Kashmiri novelist, academic, poet, economist, artist who lives in London.
She has published widely in several groundbreaking collections and addressed diverse audiences around the world on many themes with a central focuse on identity, democracy, creativity, political economy, Kashmir and Bhutan. Nitasha has authored books including the scholarly monograph ‘Imagining Economics Otherwise. Her first novel ‘Residue’, about Kashmiris outside of Kashmir, was shortlisted for the Man Asian Literary Prize in 2009.
Safoora Teli is a British Kashmiri lawyer with a special interest in humanitarian and international criminal law.
Fuelled by an interest in humanitarian law and experiences in Kashmir, Safoora co-founded The K Word initiative whilst at the University of Nottingham. The K Word is an information-based organisation that seeks to demystify the subject of Kashmir and make the contemporary conflict an accessible topic of discussion and study.
