The SOAS Bar Society is opening applications for the 2019/2020 committee positions. All positions, except that of Vice President, are open to all SOAS students that will be in their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of study in the academic year of 2019/2020.

The SOAS Bar Society is opening applications for the 2019/2020 committee positions. All positions, except that of Vice President, are open to all SOAS students that will be in their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of study in the academic year of 2019/2020. The role of Vice President is only open to students not in their final year of study. The vacant committee positions and their descriptions follow below.

To apply for a committee position please fill out THIS short Google Form and send your CV to soasbarsoc@soas.ac.uk.

Applicants will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so make sure to submit your application as soon as possible. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview. Applications will remain open until  Friday the 31st of May.

 

Vacant Committee Positions

Secretary
Responsibilities: Maintaining effective communication between the members of the Society, organising meetings, and responsible for all documentation of the Society.
Open to all years

Treasurer
Responsibilities: maintaining and updating the Society's finances, allocating the Society's budget, communicating with other Society members. Responsible for handling of all refund claims. 

Open to all years

Communications Officer
Responsibilities: Drafting and management of the SOAS Bar Society Newsletter, compiling bar-related opportunities to be sent out in our bi-weekly Newsletter, and liaising with qualified barristers and academics regarding Mooting Competitions and other events.
Open to all years

Events Officer
Responsibilities: Brainstorming, organising, and managing the logistic arrangements of the society's events, including speakers' talks, court visits, and social events.
