A talk by experienced facilitators, both of whom recovered from alcoholism at university. The talk will address what alcoholism is, how to identify it, and what avenues there are for support. All welcome.

Dissecting & Tackling Alcoholism

Where: New Room: Room 4429, 4th Floor, SOAS Main Building


The topics that the facilitators will cover, will include:

- Why does alcohol seem to affect each of us so differently?

- Alcoholism: what are its defining features?

- 'who can I talk to if I think I have a drinking problem?'

- 'Is AA for me?'

- 'I think a friend of mine has a drinking problem. Is there anything I can do to help?'

- Getting sober at university: challenges and opportunities.  

The facilitators are involved with Alcoholics Anonymous & have worked with the SOAS Students' Union to develop this event. Everyone is welcome to this event, irrespective of your relationship with alcohol.
