SOAS Alumni Panel: Environment, Politics and Development Careers
When: Thu 10 March 2022 14:00-15:30
Where: Zoom
This session is open to SOAS students contemplating, or wondering how to get into, efforts to reconcile environmental sustainability with development imperatives. It will be based around the experiences of MSc Environment, Politics and Development graduates, who will tell us about what they did next, how it's going and what they've learned that might fruitfully be shared. The session will feature four panellists, each with 10 minutes to discuss their own experiences in relation to the following two considerations:
- the practicalities of how to establish specific career trajectories and/or get involved in efforts towards change.
- discussing the extent to which any of the above constitute a viable, effective, empowering avenue for change
The panellists are:
- Maia Baldauf, Area Director, Mercy Corps
- David Nemecek, Head of Banking and Sustainability, International Sustainable Finance Centre
- Jane Eisenhardt, Ecosystems Management Consultant UNEP
- Katrina Lehmann-Grube, Programme Manager at the Wild Law Institute
Please access the session on the day via Zoom.
