Vote HASAN #1 for International Officer
Hey, I am Rakibul Hasan, from Bangladesh and currently in my 2nd year of LLB (Hons.) Law. This year I am running for the post of the International Officer. As I am an international student, I know how many problems an international student has to face.
If you elect me -
• I shall represent the interests of international students to the Union and the School.
• I shall liaise with the NUS International Students Campaign to raise awareness of issues pertaining to international students.
• I shall run campaigns and events appropriate to this constituency.
• I shall play a part in the international students’ induction and be available to offer advice on international student issues in association with the Sabbatical Officers.
• I will work with other liberation officers to ensure their work reflects the intersectional nature of different students' identities.
• I will campaign for a prayer/Religious Room in more convenient places on campus
• I will create more guidance and convenience for international students’ finance
• I will create awareness and more accessibility of international help services such as the Global/ International Office
• I will campaign for more recognition for national and religious holidays
• I will campaign for flexible tuition fees payment including amounts, discounts, scholarships and deadlines
• I will promote the awareness of scholarships and information
• I will create more career support for international students
I was the previous secretary at Debate wing in Bhuiyan Academy Club for Student Activities, University of London external programme, Bangladesh. In my college I was the vice-president of Notre Dame Science club. Currently I am newly elected for the Vice President of SOAS Law Society and Treasurer of SOAS Bar Society.
