Creating permanently inclusive, safe spaces for black/ poc students

at SOAS

 

sustained inclusivity training for white staff and students at SOAS, because black/ poc folx should not have to educate the oppressor

 

support groups and social mixers to be held weekly; sometimes its nice to share the day, good or bad, over some snacks with friendly faces

 

facilitating regular career opportunities outside of SOAS, creating and extending partnerships with black/ poc run organisations, helping you to make the next steps towards a successful and happy career

 

working closely with officers throughout the SU to ensure the marginalised have a voice, because black and poc folx have different lived experiences that WILL be heard, standing against anti-blackness, racism, transphobia and ableism up to management level and beyond

 

bring the A back to SOAS, ensuring management are held accountable and reviewing steps to protect the most vulnerable modules, courses and marginalised people at SOAS
