Hi all,
I am Ahmed Imtiaz and I would like to be your next academic affairs officer.
Things I will like to do:
- Collaborate with De-Colonisation of SOAS: Curriculum should be more inclusive by incorporating authors from BAME backgrounds.
- Ensure better checks by department’s feedback on essays.
- I will raise issues with representatives regarding Moodle shutdowns when there is a delay in student tuition fee payments.
- Constructive Feedback on exams should be given effectively and efficiently to all students.
- Host student rep forums twice a term to make sure the SU and student body remain informed about what is going on at the departmental level.
- Ensure lectures are recorded for improved accessibility.
- More tailored guidance on how to write essays for first years students. I will put forward the implementation of workshops available to students as soon as courses begin.
