We are Serena and Anirudh, current second year students who are running for the position of International students' officer for 2019/2020.
Have you ever rolled your eyes when someone mentioned how expensive University fees are when they're paying £9250? Have you ever felt the pain of missing lessons because of strikes and knowing that you have little to no power to do anything and have no student finance to fall back on?
Well we have too and we are running this year to help alleviate these situations where many international students often feel so helpless and unsure of what they can do. Between the both of us, we have had enough experience working with University management to assure you that if you approach us with an issue, we will do everything in our ability to help you solve it.
We are here to help. Help make a change, help fellow international students find their footing in SOAS and help bridge the gap between cultures so that everyone feels welcome. We aim to create an open and safe environment for anyone to approach us and to work with us for the betterment of international students in SOAS.
A Swiss national who can speak fluent Thai and a Indian boy brought up in the suburbs of Singapore, we don't think you'll find anyone more international than us.
