Hi everyone!
My name is Helana and I am running to be Postgraduate officer! I am running for this position because I want to bring a sense of community to graduate students at SOAS that I think could use some reinforcement. I quite enjoy the joint events we have with Undergraduates, but I would like to work on the creation of events/socials catered for just Postgraduates where we can exchange ideas, stories, and the struggles and joys of being a graduate student. I also would like to serve as an outlet for graduate students to voice their general concerns and talk about what they need to feel included and optimistic at SOAS.
Being a Postgraduate student is intense and a sense of community and that you are not alone in the struggle goes along way. I would love to have the opportunity to work on providing that!
