Hello democracy lovers!
My name is Aimee Quenneville and I am a postgraduate student at SOAS pursuing an MA in Gender and Law. I am running for the position of NUS Representative because I have a long and rather unique history of involvement with national student organizations and I would love the chance to bring my experience to represent the university that has become my home.
In a former life, I was an Honours Bachelor of Arts Specialist in Sexual Diversity Studies at the University of Toronto, where I served on the University of Toronto Students' Union's Board of Directors. In this role, I attended national meetings and conferences and represented my university's interests as well as Canadian student interests on a variety of issues including unpaid internships, campus equity campaigns, and drop fees initiatives. I was also responsible for delivering the interests of my individual college to the larger U of T community.
I am a very outspoken and passionate person and I would love to bring these attributes to the table to represent SOAS amongst peers from across the country. Thank you so much for your time, and hopefully, for your support!
