Open every day Monday to Friday, our Bar is a great place to relax after lectures. With student prices, great music, and a variety of events. The SU bar is the place to be for meeting friends and great memories.

Monday - Friday 16:30 - 23:00
Saturday - Sunday Closed
* The SU Bar is closed out of Term time and during Reading weeks.
ITS ALSO A SOCIAL SPACE:
The doors to the bar space is open for students from 11am everyday Monday - Friday.
The bar space, including the beer garden & smoking area, pool and foosball table are available for everyone to enjoy during these times.
Please note that before 11am the Bar area is closed in order for cleaning and maintaince to be completed. It is not accesible during that time.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept cash?
We are unable to accept cash payments, our venues are card only. Our terminals have recently been updated to accept all major card providers worldwide including JCB, alipay, wechat, Union pay.
Can I bring my own drinks?
It is against our Licensing terms for any drinks not purchased from the SU bar to be consumed on onsite. This includes the outdoor beer garden area.
If you enter the venue carrying any drinks purchased externally, you will be asked you to leave it with the bar team, which you can then collect when leaving the venue. Any students caught consuming external drinks will be asked to leave.
Drinks and food items purchased from other outlets on site are pemitted to be consumed in the bar whilst closed. We encourage students to take full advance of the bar area's social space between 11am-5pm
When are last orders?
Our venue license is until 11pm for normal nights. Our bar team will call last orders between 10:30-10:45 depending on how busy we are. This is to ensure everyone has at least 15 minutes to enjoy their drinks before closing
Can I bring a non SOAS friend?
Yes you can. They will need to sign in at reception with you. If entering from our beer garden gate entrance you may be asked to show ID and Student ID on entry
Do I need ID?
Our bar team operates a challenge 21 policy. If you are lucky enough to look younger than your age you may be asked proof of age when ordering. Nationality ID, Driving license or Passport are all valid forms of id. During ticketed event nights and in line with the nature of the events. Students may be asked to show their id along with their student card at entry.
