SOAS Klezmer Band is back!
You are invited to join the notorious SOAS Klezmer Band. Our band plays traditional Eastern European Jewish Music, a collection of raucus dances and nostalgic laments, unfogettable melodies and toe-tapping beats.
We welcome all acoustic instruments and no previous experience of Klezmer is required! During rehearsals we play and learn the Klezmer repertoire; visiting Klezmer experts will also be invited to teach and lead sessions, many of whom started out learning Klezmer at SOAS.
We tour and gig around SOAS at many events, and also perform at protests and picket lines in and around SOAS, as well as at external events. In addition to playing, we will be attending gigs of local and international Klezmer bands.
We meet at SOAS every Monday evening during term time, from 5-7pm.
