About Us
SOAS CMC aims to create an inclusive and safe community built around our love for climbing. No previous experience is required to join our society and everyone is welcome to do so.
Our group is made by people with different backgrounds and skill levels. The long term climbers are always willing to share their experience with beginners and new members. No gear is needed. SOAS CMC provides all the needed equipment to everyone, except from climbing shoes (which can be rented at the gym for 3£).
We meet weekly at The Castle Climbing Centre (https://www.castle-climbing.co.uk/) and our climbing sessions are often followed by a pint at the local pub. The Castle is one of the biggest climbing gym in the UK, with indoor and outdoor bouldering areas and a huge selection of routes for both lead and top-roping.
The connection with nature is a big part of SOAS CMC’s identity. We love outdoor climbing and we often organise climbing trips whenever the English weather allows us to! Climbing outdoor is a great way to take a break from the busy life of London, to spend time with your mates and to create good memories with new and old friends.
