Over the last 6 months, SOAS SU has been working with Attitude is Everything to improve the accessibility of our Union space and events. Measures put in place include access training for members of staff and society presidents, improved signage, a viewing area policy and free tickets to our ticketed events for an assistant or enabler. As part of our action plan, we will also be marking out a permanent route in the JCR, which we will be asking students to keep clear at all times, to improve access to the shop, cash machine and to performances taking place at the back of the JCR.

Our efforts have been recognised by national charity, Attitude is Everything, who improve Deaf and disabled people’s access to live music by working in partnership with audiences, artists and the music industry. SOAS SU was signed off as achieving Bronze Level according to the Attribute is Everything Charter of Best Practice. They tweeted
