SCHOOL OF ORIENTAL & AFRICAN STUDIES, SENATE HOUSE, ALUMNI LECTURE THEATRE

We are pleased to announce our collaboration with the organisation, 'College Students Alliance for North Korean Human Rights', also known as YoungNK.

For their Insight into North Korea project, the SOAS North Korea Society invites you to join two North Korean defectors on the subjects of women and children human rights abuses in North Korea.

Firstly, graduate student Ji Young Lee will discuss the issues of women's rights in North Korea today. She has also worked in the National Security Department of North Korea.

Defector Namgyu Back will also discuss the violation of human rights in North Korea based on his first-hand experiences and the struggles of children in North Korea.

Our event will last around 2 hours, with each speaker discussing their area of focus for 40 minutes. We also invite you to join us for a Q&A session after the talks. This event will provide you with more insight into North Korean life and human rights from two very personal accounts.
