Team Up

Team Up was founded with the aim of helping young people to overcome the three barriers to social mobility in the UK: low academic attainment, restricted access to higher education, and under-representation in competitive professions.

Research conducted by the Economic and Social Research Council has found that while 75% of the richest fifth of British children achieved five ‘good’ GCSEs, only 21% of the poorest fifth hit this benchmark.

Our vision is that all young people should have an equal chance of fulfilling their potential regardless of their social background. We want to achieve this by connecting ambitious university students with secondary school pupils who need just a bit of extra help to give them the confidence to pursue their goals.

As well as the benefits received directly from tutoring voluntarily, getting involved with Team Up can get you exclusive access to masterclasses, mentoring, and the possibility of being fast-tracked onto other opportunites with Team Up's partner companies. Last year's partners on the Employer Pathway included PwC, Credit Suisse, Lloyds Bank, Norton Rose Fulbright and Ark Schools, with more to join this year.
Check teamup.org.uk/employerpathway for more information.

You will receive all the necessary training beforehand, so don't worry if you don't have much experience!

"Every child deserves a champion, an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be." Rita Pierson, Educator.
