Queer Asia Conference Society was set up to sustainably run events addressing issues pertaining to the LGBTQIA+ Asian communities/ students in London. The society was set up after the successful conclusion of the Queer Asia 2016 conference held at SOAS in June 2016. The conference brought together activists, academics and filmmakers/poets/performers from 15 different Asia contries and significant Asian diasporas to discuss the various issues concering LGBTQ communities.
Objectives of the Society:
1. To organise events on issues affecting Asian LGBTQIA+ Communities.
2. To plan and provide support to the Organising Committee for the Queer Asia 2017 Conference.
3. To ensure representation of issues pertaining to Asian LGBTQIA+ Communities.
