On 16 December, Director of SOAS Paul Webley, Students’ Union Sabbatical Officer Georgie Robertson and Registrar Laura Gibbs reinforced the School’s commitment to combating mental health stigmatisation by formally signing the Time to Change pledge. Time to Change is an anti-stigma campaign run by the leading mental health charities Mind and Rethink Mental Illness. The pledge states: ‘SOAS is committed to ending the stigma and discrimination that surrounds mental health and promoting an environment that supports wellbeing across the whole School.’
Implementing the Pledge is a process that should involve the whole SOAS community, for exaample through upcoming meetings, events, activities, and projects. This will kick off with the SOAS Accessibility & Inclusivity Forum on Monday 26th January.
