Our next Union General Meeting (UGM) will be Tuesday 23rd Feb at 5pm in the JCR.

What is a UGM?

Much more exciting than they sound, UGMs play a central role in shaping the Union's political and economic direction and are famous for passionate and heated debated. UGMs are a forum where all students can propose and vote on the Students' Union's policy, which elected officers are then mandated to act upon.

Policy is submitted as a motion to be discussed and voted on. These can be issues that you think the Union should campaign on, ideas you have to improve the Students' Union, or things which you want to change in SOAS or the wider world.

*UGM accessibility:*

Following feedback from the UGM accessibility working group, we will have designated accessibility & welfare contacts at this UGM. They will be wearing green SU Squad t-shirts. If at any point during the meeting, you feel uncomfortable, harassed or have an accessibility issue/requirement, speak to them and they will do their best to try and resolve this with you.

This UGM will also be a *dry space*, we request that no one consumes alcohol within the meeting
