We’re currently putting all the content together for the new term, so keep checking back over the next few weeks for the latest information about Freshers’ Week, Societies, and the SOAS SU!
The newest additions to the site can be found in the top right of the ABOUT section. They include a brief history of the Union & the Officers who were elected to run your Union for the next year. We know it’s a little un-noticeable and we’re working on it!
If this isn’t enough to quench your desire for things going on at SOAS check out OpenAir.fm, the online, in-tune & independent radio based on the Russell Square campus.
The current projects we are working on to keep the website as students like it are:
- Login Authentication: we are aiming to use either SOAS Login details, Facebook Login details or maybe gmail login details. The reason we do this is because we think it would be nicer to reduce the amount of online login details everyone has to remember and profiles that are needed to be created. ( Before this gets running properly let Sebilio (sl57@soas.ac.uk) know what you want on the site and he’ll use his fingertips to the best of his ability to get it all on as soon as possible!)
- Student Rep Blog / Forum: Here we aim to create a place where all student reps can post any information about what has been said during course meetings, lectures and tutorials. It will allow people with similar problems to see how other reps have been dealing with them and also it will give us proof that your Sabbatical Officers can use on the negotiating table when we want to push proposals in the higher committees of the University.
- Dinwiddy Dialougue Blog: A space that will let Dinwiddians share whatever it is they want to share! Recipes, stories, music, videos, pictures, ideas, everything beyond and inbetween.
And just in case you havn’t been introduced, check out the video!
Contrary to popular belief we do not have an obsession for lists and the site will be more portal based once some more web-exploration has been done!
Well done for sorting out the SU website at last! It’s looking good, just make sure it stays updated
and good luck with the rickshaw drivers!
hi
i was just wondering if the su had anything to say about all the issues with the slc this year.
I’ve been calling them non stop all morning and can’t get through. I haven’t been financially assessed yet and it seems as if there are a lot of people in the same position as i am.
its costing me a fortune trying to call them x.x
any advice?
Amii
Hi Amii,
If you’re a fresher than you have discovered what students have come to learn about the useless organisation the SLC is. I recommended you contact the SOAS Registry and inform them of your situation and they will be able to advice you including late enrollment. Their contact details can be easily found on the SOAS Website.
Hope that helps
